A simple way to judge which size you need is to use your hands as a measuring tape. The width of a hand across knuckles is roughly 10cm wide.
The rule of thumb for wrapping with fabric is that the size of the fabric should be twice the length of the longest side of the gift. So if you are wrapping a gift that is 2 hands widths on it's longest side, you need a fabric wrap that is about 4 hand widths (about 40cm), so a Medium. If the item you are wrapping is a cube, go up a size.
Because ribbons are included in the design, you’re tying the ribbons, not the fabric. This means you need a smaller size wrap than you would for traditional Japanese Furoshiki.
We have 4 sizes of fabric wrapping:
- Small 30 x 30cm
- Medium 50 x 50cm
- Large 75 x 75cm
- Extra Large 100 x 100cm
